A short review of the 14" Matt Garska Equilibrium Hi Hats:

The Equilibrium hats have an excellent dryness about them. This is primarily achieved by sandblasting portions of the hi hats as well as giving them a lathe on other parts. The holes on the bottom hi hat cymbal let just enough air to escape when using your foot to chick the cymbals. This gives an extra sweetness and depth of pocket to the foot chick. The wide open volume of these cymbals is absolutely incredible.  It feels very breathy and some how sits both below and above crash cymbal frequencies.  The open volume never got in the way of ghost notes or slight accents by way of splashes, ride patterns etc.

These cymbals also play and feel great.  The thinner top still gives great rebound and stick definition, yet still has the slight spoungieness that I love from medium to thin top hats.  I never felt like I had to "muscle out" stickings, and the rebound just felt very natural.  

I think these Hi hats will surprise you as much as they did us, The dynamic open - closed volume, the hi hat chick pocket, and the quick sonic attack and decay when tightly depressed let these hats travel across wide dynamic and musical ground. No matter what genre you traverse, these hi hats will deliver the best sound possible.
